Contemplating between 2 guitars

I"ve recently been offered A rg2570 prestige for 250$ (neck and body) but since i've only had experience on a RG220B i don't know whether to get it or not, i want the neck and body because it would give me the oppertunity to get the pickup combo i wanted (EMG 60a/85).

2nd guitar is the musicman petrucci sig guitar with piezo, but that's a guitar for 1500$.

so what do you think i should get ?

and a couple more

1.Can i change the bridge from lo pro to something less sound corrupting (a tune-o-matic piezo ? or something else ? can anyone give me any options please?)

2.Is there any Piezo bridge that would fit this guitar body ?

Sincerely

Re: Contemplating between 2 guitars

250 for a body and neck isnt too bad, i paid over $200 for a prestige neck along not too long ago (yeah i was ripped off a bit!) so thats a good deal.

As far as the musicman goes, i love mine (ive got the Pearl Redburst version with the Piezo). It plays wonderfully, and the trem actually feels fairly similar to a floyd (but it doesent stay in tune quite as well).

Comparing 2 guitars priced so differently is pretty hard, but honestly, i think the body and neck is a better deal. You could try and get a double edge bridge off evilbay (ive seen a few pop up every now and then) which would give you the piezo.

As far as changing the bridge id say its not worth the effort, If you really want a non-floyd style bridge, then get a different guitar. You could of course stick with the floyd and get a tremol-no (or just block off the trem) which would give you the added sustain of a hardtail bridge.

All the stuff youve mentioned are so different, you should probably think about what you want most in the guitar, im sure you'll find one that will suit you perfectly if you looked around. The Ibanez RGA's are very nice you want a hardtail, so you might want to take a look at those .

The deal on the prestige is good, get that for sure, and block your tremolo system, since you probably dont want to use the tremolo anyways from the sound of things.
