Which one? Oh well that's another thread.

Rich.... I was under the impression that the Prestige guitars were manufactured in Japan. Isn't this a "J Craft" guitar????

Re: Crooked Prestige

Only Prestige RG's and some signature models are TJC [JC's are too but that's a given]

Re: Crooked Prestige

I had the same problem with my s1520 but not quite to that extreme. It was all fixed once I put a new set of knifes on the trem

Re: Crooked Prestige

If the knives come out and can be replaced, is it not possible to have a shade taken off the back of the knife at the top E side.
Would this help the problem or am I just stabbing in the dark ??

...oh and

prestige
noun

The level of credit or respect at which one is regarded by others:
face, standing, status.
See respect.

A person's high standing among others:
dignity, good name, good report, honor, reputation, repute, respect, status.
See respect.

A position of exalted widely recognized importance:
distinction, eminence, eminency, fame, glory, illustriousness, luster, mark, notability, note, preeminence, prominence, prominency, renown.
See important, knowledge, respect.

...Notice that prestige is often linked to respect and things like good name, honor and reputation are in there too.
If that is what Ibanez pass off as a prestige model than can they honestly be suprised when some of the loyal customer seem a bit jaded ?

The ZR trem doesn't have knife edges. My guitar has an edge lo-pro

Exactly....

And no there is no knife edge. It is a shaft and ball bearing set on the ZR trem.

So what happens if I have to replace that part? Is it bent so that it just fits or what? If I don't wind up getting a replacement from Ibanez (unlikely). I WILL find out. At some point the trem will be disassembled just to find out.

Will the misaligned cam cause premature failure .....who knows?

What ever happens.. or is discovered I'll be sure to share my findings.

Re: Crooked Prestige

Just for the record.

I'm NOT hell bent to find problems with Ibanez or on some kind of rage filled, revengefull, rampage.

I have come to terms with whatever happens. It is more of a fact finding, enlightenment type of thing.

Re: Crooked Prestige

I highly suggest NOT removing the knife edges from your edge or lopro edge tremolo system.
