Customized my RG2550E Galaxy Black...

Took some time off this weekend to make changes to my RG2550E - new smoked gray mirror pickguard, H-H pickup configuration, VLX91 super-switch and locking studs (which cost me an additional £11.50 in customs :/).

Current pickups are Evo neck and Breed bridge, but I'm still looking for an Evo bridge. At first the missing mid pickup looked a bit odd but I think I already like the new look. The two new pickup positions also sound great - neck parallel and inner coils.

Sweet guitar! I used to have this guitar and it was excellent! I also have an Evo bridge for sale that hasn't been opened. Still sealed in its package! It's zebra colored though.

ditto.

i actually would have gotten a tortiseshell guard for it. i dig a fender vibe and the GK color would be smkoing with it.
otherwise, it's a great looking axe.

I haven't considered another neck pickup because I'm really happy with the Evo's tone, it's perfect for me. A Tone Zone was installed before this Breed bridge and I find the Breed is not as good for harmonics. Since the Evo neck has worked out really well, I'm a wee bit curious to try the Evo bridge to see how that spans out

It's hard to describe other than it sounds brilliant, especially for clean guitar... it is strat'ish but with less quack. Does well on a dirty channel too, nice bluesy tone. Positions 2 and 4 (neck parallel & inner coils) are all I've been playing after adding the switch heh.

Great! I hope there are no copyrights, because I am now compelled to do the same : )

Where did you get the pickguard and the locking studs?

You can always revert to H-S-H if you ever decide to sell it.

Locking studs from Rich, pickguard from Jeannie pickguards USA and VLX91 switch from Cottam guitars. No copyrights here, all the best

Very nice guitar!

What difference is there in terms of sound compared to the original DiMarzios?

The original DiMarzio/ibz pickups in the RG2550 weren't that bad at all compared to the V7/V8 humbuckers in my RG1570 which were pretty weak.

I'm currently on an Evo neck + Tone Zone and they clearly sound better than the stock pickups, more definition and harmonics.

Looks great!!!
Now all you need is a pickguard for H-S-S, and you'll have all your options covered
