Does every J-Custom come with a strap lock ?

Some weeks ago i purchased a JCRG-5 and she came with strap locks, so i wonder wether every J-Custom comes with them.

Every prestige and j-custom Ibanez i've owned so far has come with those straplocks

Interesting, can anybody confirm that ? For Example my DNA didn't come with them.

All 3 of my J-Customs came with those. It's a nice setup but I changed them over to the Ernie Ball locks.

Older J-Custom models come with a different kind of straplock recessed into the upper horn. All newer J-Customs (not sure what year - since 2000?) come with the ones pictured. They rock, only issue I have is that the part screwed into the body comes loose and often needs tightening. And on one guitar I didn't tighten in time and the screw snapped off. This isn't the fault of the straplocks, just the curved thin edge of the RG upper horn.

I thought Prestiges didn't come with these ever, but I could be wrong.

All J Custom models came with strap locks. The older ones had recessed Dunlop push button strap locks. The more recent ones have the Gotoh ones where you have to twist.

This isn't the fault of the straplocks, just the curved thin edge of the RG upper horn.

That was the issue that saw with them as well. The EB straplocks have a slightly wider base to them, are shorter and stay a bit more stable at the screw opening area. What I did was put a soft nylon washer under the felt washer to keep it from damaging the finish. I'll have to post a pic. It worked great!

My DNA didn't come with them either.

All of my 3 JC's did, they're in with the tools and trem arm and have fitting instructions with them too. The DNA is not really a JC so that's probably why it doesn't have them ?

my friend has these straplocks when he got his UV777BK new in 2000/2001... I believe they're Gotoh straplocks...

My Prestige RGA321F didn't come with strap locks

I've got a JCRG 1702, apprently it's the only guitar that comes with the DiMarzio Clip-Lock strap as stock. Those other ones appear to be different to mine.

EDIT: This is one i found on the ibanezregister. Doesn't appear to have strap locks TS




I think it's just common for most people to put them on.

My bad i guess... I'm only familiar with the DiMarzio cliplock style ones, haven't seen any others in person haha
