Question

edge trem vs. original floyd

Hi everyone!
I'm thinking of buying this used RG2020x, and I guess it comes w/ the Double Edge trem w/ piezos. I just wanted you guys to compare the metals, thickness of block, functionality and durability of the Double Edge vs. the Original Floyd Rose tremolo. I'm sure you're tired of these questions but I'd appreciate your help. Thanks a lot!

Re: edge trem vs. original floyd

So, is the Double Edge, the Edge Pro, or Edge II, or Edge III, but w/ piezos? Which one? I'm confused!

Re: edge trem vs. original floyd

The Double Edge is the Edge Pro with piezo. The Edge Pro is the best trem Ibanez has to offer at the moment.

If Ibanez ships it with locking studs, then it will be the best trem they have to offer yet.

Re: edge trem vs. original floyd

Since you are talking about the 2020x it has the Lo Pro Edge, so that's the best trem of all the time even better (some say) then the OFR.

It's a used axe... well, to be more accurate, it's better than used: it's N.O.S. So it's basically new, although made years ago.

So it doesn't come from Ibanez but an acquaintance. I'm waiting for my next paycheck, and doing a little research --he's pretty much "holding" it for me.

Thanks everyone for your replies!

Translation:
Studs er de metallskruene som tremoloen hviler på, locking studs er altså låsbare sånne. De sluttet å bruke de når de begynte med Edge Pro tremoloen

Re: edge trem vs. original floyd

A piezo is a pickup wired into the bridge that simulates an acoustic tone, sometimes with a seperate jack output.
