Re: Egen
It is largely the only signature I've been interested in playing (normally not a big fan of playing other people's guitar...pretty sure I'm going to get ragged on for that comment on this site. Haha), but at that price tag I'll be saving up for a custom guitar. Looks pretty as hell though.

I've sold a couple. Did you want to know something specific?

Re: Egen
Sustain properties are about the same as a typical RG Prestige.
The S5470's are about the same, it's just they don't naturally decay. They sustain strong and then just die abruptly, there is no "decay".

If I had to guess I would say a RGT42 just based on the specs.

Re: Egen
Hey Rich, how does it play? How do the pickups sound? Could you be bothered just to give a full review?

Re: Egen
You guys always ask that like it's going to play significantly different from anything else
It's basically a JEM/Prestige neck, the pickups are based on Evo's, he's a big Vai fan so it's more a thinline mahogany JEM with the Edge Zero. Plays like everything else I do with like gauge and setup
It's got way more tonal variations than I'd even remember to mess with, I just have to remember to test them all.

I think the final end result was 18 different tonal variations

Re: Egen
Exactly, I have to look at the output diagram and just tap test the pickups, I have no idea what all those extra combinations are supposed to sound like

Re: Egen
So can you get the famous pacman noise, mario jump and elephant effect out of those 18 tones ?
I thought not... Since when does he need such a guitar anyways. He has so many effects on at once you can't even hear the raw tone.
Nice guitar though

He doesn't use that many effects. The pacman sound is just a pick trick. You hear the tone of the guitar a lot, he uses a little delay but all those video game sounds come from his hands, trim and pick.
I don't knowwhat it is but DF seems to be like a mythical band to so many people. They think they record at half speed or that they do some certain trick. It's always people guessing at some secret thay're not telling everyone. It's funny. I guess in that way they are successful, everyone has to grasp at straws to explain the way they play.
