You know, when I first saw it I thought it was stupid too. But slowly bit by bit I started to like it in a "soo ugly it's cool" way.

Re: Fireman page up on Ibanez.com
First time I saw it, I wanted one.
But, then I looked at the price and I came to the realization that when I have what the sticker price is now, that the guitars will be about twice as much because they will be vintage by then.

Re: Fireman page up on Ibanez.com
The part that I am having an issue with is the price. Did Leo and Les think they were building collectibles when they were designing the two greatest guitars ever? No, they were built for and to the specs of working musicians, with prices that a working musicians could afford.
This whole idea of "limited production" has went too far. I'm a bit upset with Gilbert (and Satch somewhat for the blackdog) for allowing such an assinine price to be attached to these guitars.
Greed, greed greed. And we as a people are stupid enough to fall into the trap.
Sorry, but this irks me.

Re: Fireman page up on Ibanez.com
Well, it's gotta be "limited" because both the body and neck are made out of korina wood. That's expensive and hard to come by and hard to work with. Those korina Gibsons were expensive when they came out. It's also limited because of the radical shape and why build 10,000 when you may not sell them even if they were made out of basswood. People were clamoring for that guitar forever and when it finally came out everyone is pissed cause it ain't $1200. It's a custom made Ibanez out of a rare wood with a unique shape in a flight case with a bunch of extras. It's marketed toward the PG fan who's loaded or the touring pro. It's not really designed for a bedroom rocker. BUT in 10 years those things are gonna double in value.
