NGD!!! First Prestige on the way RG2570E VGD

I can finally post in the Prestige section now!

Just snagged this RG2570E VGD on evilbay for a decent price. The color is wearing on the body, and the cosmo on the Edge Pro is blemished as usual, but the neck is in perfect condition.

I know a lot of people don't like the ghost shark tooth inlays, but I do!

HAHA! No I'm not going to swirl this one, but I do have some cool Flouro 1shot colors to refinish it with. They all look extremely close to the Ibanez DY, LNG, and SK colors... I'm leaning towards green with a pink lion's claw (no handle)... Not quite sure yet

Prolly just me, but I'd keep her as/is. You don't see vital gold very often any more......... I know you said it was a little rough, but I'd still keep it the same.

Yeah maybe...I can always make my MIJ RG421 bright a$$ green... Between painting it and a refret that will keep me busy with guitar projects for awhile

Honestly can't wait to try out the neck... there aren't any music stores anywhere near where I live that have any higher end Ibanez gear.

Even Bonamassa (Joe) Music in New hartford doesn't carry Ibanez...lol

Edit... Just Checked Bonamassa's FB and they just got a Jem 7vwh in... I'm there dude!!!

Congrats. That was a good price. I watched it myself. I have one myself in my collection. The vital finishes were not very hardy, but they play every bit as good as the other 2000/3000 prestige's.

Cool man thanks... I'm not too worried about the finish at all. The seller told me the neck looked basically brand new with virtually no fret wear so that's why I bid on it... It's supposed to be here on Thursday so I'll find out soon

I sold my first swirl job so I could buy a Prestige so I hope it was worth it!

Very cool guitar, I've always loved those models, it is a shame that the finish wears off so easily. Anyway great score!!!

Very nice guitar! a few years ago they had the exact same model and color in the music store near my work and I was very tempted by it but I couldnt afford the $1,000 + at the time. I dig the color - very cool guitar - congrats man!!!

Re: First Prestige on the way RG2570E VGD

I found the UPS driver about 11:00 this morning and got a chance to test her out...

I really love the neck on it, it feels a little bit thicker and wider than my '02 RG570 but it plays every bit as fast and smooth. I love the feel of bound necks so this one may become my favorite soon!

I like the feel of the Edge Pro and it stays in tune very well even after heavy use so no worries there at all

The neck and middle pickups are OK, but I really do not like the sound of the bridge pickup at all, compared to the Evo in my 570 it just sounds lifeless and dull...

The finish actually doesn't look as bad as in the pics up above and you really can't notice the wear in it unless you're right on top of it...

Unless my eyes are playing tricks on me the finish is more yellowish/green than gold though, but I like it better than if it actually was really gold. This pic is the closest I could get to the actual color...

Overall I am very happy with the guitar, it came very well setup from the music store that sold it and seems like a real keeper
