Hey, which guitars would you guys get over the two i'm about to buy but i can't deceide. be truthful, its between the Ibanez RGA321 and ESP M-II . my brains going crazy!? which?????

Apples and oranges. Isn't one a fixed bridge, and the other a locking trem?

yes the Ibanez RGA321 is fixed,

and the ESP M-II have a floyd rose original.


you can choose from rosewood or maple fretboard on the MII also. the rga321 is more creative, flashy, thats for sure. but the MII is a solid guitar with immaculate build quality. hmm, and I have days where I love locking trems, and others where I wish I never had them on my guitars. Which would you guys buy out of the two? and why?

Neither for me. Not a fan of ESP or fixed bridges, but if those were the only two guitars I had to choose from it would be the Ibanez. Not because this is an Ibanez based web site, but because the neck is sweet on that guitar. I'm also pretty sure I wouldnt be able to play that ESP without driving everyone crazy with my Metallica riffs!

I would have to go with the ESP. Though I do like the M-II with the maple neck better. But both are great guitars.

If it has to be between those two guitars, I'd choose the ESP. I owned that Ibanez model and, although it's a well made instrument and has a very good sound, I didn't like the neck much at all. Something just never felt right about it no matter what i did.... string gauges, different brands, etc. It just always felt stiff. Also, take into consideration that the RGA is REALLY thin.

it's all back to you, you are the one who gonna play those things.
if it's gonna be your first guitar, you'd better try them both and make decision ur self, don't let anyone tell you what to choose, because i'm an ibanez man, naturally i will say : go with the ibanez, **** esp!

other things should be considered :
1. they both metal machine.
2. the both 24 fret, 25,5" scale
3. the RGA has maple top, in my ears, maple top will make the sound a little softer. the M2 will have all the monster tone you can expect,
4. M2 has floyd on it, do you like it?
5. RGA only fixed bridge.
6. they both made in japan, new price: the M2 is higher than RGA.
7. i don't know what year of M2 you are looking at, i think the newer M2 comes with seymour duncan pickups, while RGA only has V series pickups.

Have you looked at the ESP FR/FRII?

They have some features from both the guitars you mentioned.

Wrong....the rga-321 has Dimarzio/IBZ pups in it.

Gah, I can't decide whether I'm going to take my $$$ to ibby or ESP. I like the finish on the RGA but I have fears I might miss the whammy (I Play alot of lead work) and a fear that it might be to thin? I don't want to feel like I'm playing a cardboard guitar.... The ESP is great, my fears are 1k for a black guitar? And I do find the superstrat Ibanez shape a bit more sexy than the rounded Strat ESP shape...hmmm the battle rages on.....and what if they come out with new RG prestiges ?? oh dear, I need to lay down...

Do you want a fixed bridge guitar, or one with a floyd rose?

If the answer is that you can't live without a whammy for whatever reason, then the choice is simple out of those 2 guitars.

Ideally you want to try and play both, then YOU can decide.

Basically, look at the strong differences between each model: do you want a floating bridge or a fixed bridge? I don't know enough about the ESP to offer any more advice, what I will say though is that I have an RGA121 and love it to bits, it's a very no nonsense guitar, is comfortable to play, fairly light, and I love the neck.
