Got my new prestige yesterday

My new rg2550 just arrived yesterday. But im not totalysatisfied with it yet. The strings are too thin for me making the tone sound crap or maybe i need to change the pickups. but i do like the neck its very nice and the finish.. Im just wondering if i change my strings to XL DADario thats 10 if i have to add springs on the back? Any suggestions will be appreciated.

First thing you need to do is put your usual strings/brand on it, for example I'd put Da'darrio 10's.
Then adjust the trem claw to allow for heavier strings (ie screw it up a bit tighter). Lastly get a small screw driver and experiment with the pickup hieght. Even very well thought of pups can sound pants if they're not set to the correct hieght for your style/rig.
