Has anybody played an SV yet?

Has anybody played the new SV5470's yet? I'm curious about them... curious whether or not they have the same sustain problem as the S5470's... and also about the trem and how well it stays in tune with the locking tuners & no locking nut...

Re: Has anybody played an SV yet?

I played one for a little over an hour. It has the same sustain issue as the regular s5470. The feel of the guitar is nice, even though i did not like the synchroniZR bridge. That's just personal taste though, i like the feel of a FR under my hand.

At the store where I played the guitars we ended up lowering the single coil as much as possible to see the impact it would have on the sustain and then we compared both S's with an RG 7 string. The RG rang out about 3 times as long as both the S and SV (which were about the same).

:[ That's not what I wanted to hear.

But thanks for sharing your experience with it. I had the S5470 and returned it... so, just was curious about the SV... I don't think I'd mind the way the trem is because it's similar to the EBMM Petrucci I had, but the sustain issue is a big deal for me...
