Help me date this S1520

Hi all,

I just bought a S1520 from my local Geetar Center. They have to do a store to store transfer, so it should be here by Monday.

Here is the deal. The matched the price on music 123 dot com who was selling it as a close out. It wasn't until I got home and looked closer at the ad on music 123 dot com that I realized it is different than the S1520FBNT.
The music 123 guitar doesn't look like it. I think it must be an older model. Does anyone know the details on this guitar?

I wonder which one I bought??? I hope it is the FBNT model.

Thanks,

Tom

That would be the BP Black Pearl of course, no FB veneer.

Do you know what year the BP was available? I didn't think that model was made in 2002. So, if I am correct I think it must be pre-2002. Is it '01? '00?

Now I am really curious what I bought!

Thanks

I did some research and it seems the Black Perl may have been an option in 1999. Maybe 2000. If that is true, then I probably got the FBNT since that was so long ago and I probably got the best of the Guitar Center salesman.

Can anyone confirm these dates for me?

The fine business man at the swirly link above has kindly posted all Ibanez the catalogs. If you have not already, scroll through those. I was under the impression that BP was always an option on that guitar through 2000, but check it out.

Thanks. Those old catalogs are useful aren't they.

You are correct. 2000 was the last year for the 1520BP.

hey solemusic,
iam also looking for a s1520fb...and i saw the ********.com price on that black pearl. How did you get guitar center to match it? They matched even though they had to get it shipped in?
thanks

The 123 price was not for black pearl, although that is what they displayed. It was for the FBNT!

GC did a store to store transfer. They matched the price and threw in a $80 case! It was instock in a nearby GC. So I got the case and guitar for $699 + tax. I think they goofed by giving me the case, but I am not complaining! :-) Plus, last week GC was running a no pay no interest for 18 months.

I think the 123 FBNT guitar is no longer on the 123 site. They must be gone. The guitar is awesome!

How did I get them to match? I just told them the website that had a better price. GC wanted to sell it for $1050.
