Help me DECIDE... - Delima...Which one???

Hey guys,

I'm having trouble deciding on which guitar to get. An RG2027X or an RG2420???

The thing is my dealer had made a special aggrement with Ibanez to bring in 3 Prestige Ibanez from *the J market. The 3 prestige being an RG1280, RGR1220 and the RG2420. I'm only interested in the RG2420 coz i already have a RG570EX and i wanted a mahagony bodied guitar. For those of you who aren't sure abt the specs on this guitar, here they are: Mahagony Body with quilted maple top, 2 hum, binding on neck & body basically the same specs as an RG3120 but a whole lot better. But before this offer came i had set my mind on a 7 String RG2027X. *One more thing the RG2420 coz something like US$873 w/case

What do you guys think...should i get the 2027 or 2420???

skazie,

I really dig the 3120, so I'd like to see pics of that 2420 if you know where they are available.

Guess it all boils down to if you want a seven string, or a six string. *I don't think either is lacking any quality.

Let us know which one you get!

Prices look pretty good over there! Would you *please* get the serial # of the ART and post it in the ART registry in the J Custom section of this Forum.

Well the 2420 is a real sweet looker I must say.

Are you gonna' use the piezo of the 2027?
Do you want 7 over 6 strings?
If you answer yes to the above questions then proceed dire ctly to the checkout

If no then grab the 2420 I say.

Here's my plan,

Since the RG2420 is pretty rare and this is the only resonable opputurnity for me to get one. I think i'll buy the guitar first and after that we'll see how things work out for the RG2027X.

What do you guys think?

By the way, i'll try and get the serial # for the art. *

Take the mahogany RG2420, if you have no problems with a fat neck. Otherwise, go for the RG1280. I'd lean towards the 2420 because I've always wanted a mahogany body, which gives slightly better sustain and tone.

You can find pics and specs of the RG2420 at:

http://www.ibanez.co.jp/japan/el_gui...rx/rg2420.html

Hey! What shape is that RG-ART in? Can you post contacts of the shop? I'm very interested. I'm sure the other guys are, too!

Eveything is set and done. I'll be getting my RG2420 somewhere around late Jan or early Feb.

CAN'T WAIT!!!

By the way, ya Singapore is one of the most chepest place to buy a guitar. Even a Gibson which is made in USA is still cheaper here. But...when it comes to selection, we suck. There's not much variety for Gibsons, PRS and the other american guitar companies out there.

But that's totally the opposite for Ibanez, we get a kinda of a wide selection of Ibanez guitars here. And sometimes the dealer makes special agreements with Ibanez Japan to bring in some exclusive guitars. This month it's the Japanese Prestige models and the PGM90th. A couple of months back they wew issuing 30 prototype Ibanez guitars.
