Re: Help me out -- buying a new guitar....

SZ4020, RG550mxx, RGT3020fmds

The '04 RGT3020fmds was replaced by a less expensive RGT3120 the next year and was brought back as the RGT320q shortly thereafter.

The RGT3020fm has an Ultra neck that is a tad meatier than the new RGT320q from what I have read but it feels wonderful. The neck was changed to a 5pc Team J Wizard and the top changed to a quilt for the RGT320q with Dimarzio/IBZ pups added.

The workmanship, matching headstock, pearl Ibanez logo, binding on the neck and headstock, REAL Paf Pro pups, offset fat abalone dots, metal back plates and trans black back make this a keeper for sure. This guitar is quite possibly the nicest Ibanez I own (out of 12 or so).

I saw one of these on the 'Bay last week w/ a buy it now price of around $1100 or so which is a good price if the condition is 9/10 or so. I nabbed mine for a steal of a price since the store had no clue what this guitar was and wanted to move it fast.

Wow, great guitar. Looks like you take pretty good care of it. What'd you pay for it (you said you got great deal)? I wish the 320Q had offset dots like that. I love the offset dots.

JazzT,
Want a superb one-of-a-kind JC RG-8620s? May be a bit pricey though. I'm afraid I'm going to need to sell mine. Let know.

I would consider it, but I actually decided on the RGT320Q and bought it. It should be arriving during the second week of December. I wish I could afford BOTH guitars, but I can't.

Thanks for the offer, though.

Congrats JazzT! I'm sure that is a very fine instrument, not a doubt in my mind. Only differences you'd probably find if compared to a JCustom is the fret work and pickup selection. Plus this being a necktrhu, back of the neck glossy finish, which I personally dislike. But it is both a beautiful and "Prestige" high quality guitar.

Enjoy it!

Re: Help me out -- buying a new guitar....

Cool with the RGT, they are fantastic guitars.
I had a really nice brown one (RBB, but darker then they normally are, it looked like it was on fire) with me on clinics the other week and it really stood out among all the other models I had with me (basically all high level Ibanez there is). I really wanted it bad but found an AT100 and an AT200 that I had to have instead; I get a RGT next time.

I also did a video shot with a pink one (what a crazy colour that is) one this Monday and it also stood out as a really good instrument. Definitely one of my favourite Ibanez models.

Congratulations on a cool guitar.

I don't have the video, it was done for Ibanez and they have it (and decide when it will come out, I guess).
We were doing “showcase” videos for 9 different Prestige models, a bit of talking, some licks and one hole song on every guitar (they will only take parts from the hole songs that was recorded).
The commercial for this will be printed in Fuzz (Swedish guitar magazine) in December, so I think it will be out then. I post something here when it goes online.

The, 3120…hmmm…hard…I really like it…maybe…
