Help needed to identify S Prestige

OK, I can't post any pics because I don't have any...

It's a green flame S series Prestige
H-S-H config
Single fret marker at the 12th
Natural dark wood headstock (rosewood?)
Looks like white binding on neck and headstock

I've trawled the web to no avail so any ideas appreciated

.. and gold hardware? Then its a s1540fmtts. It looks blueish in most pictures, but is actually more on the green side imo.

Looks very similar but this one has cosmo hardware and the headstock is bare wood rather than veneered.

that guitar, in terms of specs (though this would've been pre-prestige) doesn't look terribly different from the older s540ltdfm guitars that ibanez was doing through the mid-late 90's. i remember them being sorta inconsistent from year to year, some years would have cosmo hardware on some colors, they had ibzusa pickups for a few years even as standard s540ltd's were coming with the qm series pickups (which i believe would be '94 and up). they pop up on eeb ay every now and again. very hip guitars; a bit classier/more dressy looking than the 540ltd, with the gold hardware and flame veneers. they also had very nice abalone ovals as opposed to the standard ltd's sharktooth inlays. i've been hunting for a neck from one of those for years for my s540ltd.

any way you could get the serial number? if you can tell me what year it was made, i can check my japanese ibanez catalogs (i have basically every japanese standard full-line catalog from '93 - '05) to see if it was a japan-only thing.

s1670FMTTS. It's in the '03 catalogue.

Re: Help needed to identify S Prestige

I've just scored what I'm pretty sure is a S1540FMTTS but it's got a natural wood finish headstock, whereas in the pic above it looks a uniform black. Is the pic just not clear or were there variants?

Re: Help needed to identify S Prestige

the one you got is a newer model, ZR equipped. The one in the picture above is the 90's version of it, which had a lo-pro.
