Question

How Dark is Cosmo Hardware?

Just a quick question to anyone with an rg with cosmo hardware. How dark is it?
I was thinking of picking up an rg1550mpbl and getting some white pick-ups and a pearloid
but I don't like the look of black hardware right next to. My only Ibanez is a js1200 with
chrome hardware so if someone could compare it to that, that would be fantastic. Pics appreciated!

Re: How Dark is Cosmo Hardware?

unless you mean Powder Cosmo (not much used on Ibanez though), Cosmo Black is kind of a brownish, bronze color. not quite black, but kind of scotch-whiskey nuance on chrome black. it's also very chrome-like reflecting. hopefully these pics would give you an idea

I would call it black chrome if that's any help. I don't like it myself because the coating wears off so darn quickly.

Is it similar to vintage silver? Does anyone have a picture of a guitar with black cosmo hardware with a pearloid pickguard?

Thanks for those pics nuno!

It looks almost exactly like anthracite. I used to call it that before I knew the correct term for it.

Re: How Dark is Cosmo Hardware?

That finish really is pointless as it wears off within a few weeks. It's just plain chrome where the heal of my hand rest on my RGA121 bridge.
