How much is a fair price for a 1570?


Both new and used?
those are pretty cheap on flea bay

I paid $550 for mine in 2003. New w/o case.

I think new are a little more expensive now though.

Same kind of quality. The 550 has a better neck, and to my ears, better pickups. Also has the original Edge trem which IMO is far superior in feel to the Edge Pro. Also looks much better. So no, the 1570 isn't better quality. The only area where it might possibly be better are on the fret ends, but to be honest the 550 fret ends don't feel bad at all.

I'm switching out the pickups anyways, so it doesn't matter

I have a original 550 (black w/maple)so I'm not interested in the reissues lol

Yeah, been there, done that... in 1987. The reissue is better.

Why don't you just say instead that the reissue is just like the originals that you can get used on Evilbay and actually the originals are better. Then I won't feel SO DAMN BAD that I can't get one!!
