Ibanez 2550Z problems
At the start of May i bought an RG2550Z brand new from my local guitar shop and i'm afraid to say its bad news. This morning i noticed that the binding was starting to come away from the high E side, at the head stock. I'm in shock really because i paid nearly £1000 for it and expected much better quality. I have owned Jems, RG550's, PGM's and i own Les Pauls with binding.........have never seen anything like this.
I am taking it back on wednesday but dont know if they will give me my money back. the damage is not my fault and you can clearly see i have not knocked the neck or dropped it.
What do you guys think?
here are the pics

Re: Ibanez 2550Z problems
I think it'll take them all of 5 minutes to glue it back into place, and an hour to set enough to take it home.

He'll be lucky if that happens.

Re: Ibanez 2550Z problems
Music Warehouse in colchester but ive had it now for about 3 months. Its annoying because i have had les pauls for years that have never done this. I think it takes the piss a bit really. £1000 guitars should not do this

Re: Ibanez 2550Z problems
put a couple dabs of Super Glue on it and rubber band the thing for 10 mins.
that's all they'll do anyway.

Re: Ibanez 2550Z problems
happened to me on the same guitar but at the 24th fret at the high E. few drops of superglue, better than new.
guess mr. wong was having a bad monday when he made my guitar.

Re: Ibanez 2550Z problems
I'd recomend wood glue to fix loose bindings.

Re: Ibanez 2550Z problems
I took it back today and they said they can fix it so i will get it in a few days. I would glue it myself but i want it to be smooth to run my finger over like it should be and not have a rough edge

Re: Ibanez 2550Z problems
Update - The guitar was sent back to Ibanez. They agreed that it was poor quality and sent me a whole new guitar....RESULT!!!!
All seems fine so far on this one and the Edge Zero is solid. Staying in tune really well

Re: Ibanez 2550Z problems
i hope nothing like that happens to my ibanez's! glad that your problem got solved. Was it a manufacturer refund type thing or was it the retailer ?
