Ibanez 3120 vs Gibson Explorer!!!

Just looking for some advice.... i currently own a Ibanez 3120 with EMG's 81/60 and i love it..sick maple top and a exelent job on the ibanez part on details...all but the tremolo...so i am looking for a trade..

So far a friend offered me a schecter (wich i didnt liked) and another friend is offering me a Gibson Explorer Gothic like new..stock gibson Pups...

My question is would it be a smart trade for the Gibson??? ill just get the gibson to trade it for a non tremolo guitar (i dont like the explorer shape)..

My Ibanez has only one small scratch and its only missing the cover of the back (one of em) and the tremolo arm..wich two of those can easily be bought and the other one is so small noone can notice.....i love my ibanez action is supreme and it never goes out of tune... NEVER.....but i tent to rest my arm on top of the tremolo and we all know what happens...


Any suggestions??? thanks in advance


Another option was trading my ibanez on the net ...but im afraid someone would send me a defective guitar or i would send mine and the other person wouldnt......but im still considering it...suggestions??

You could always slap a Tremel-No in your 3120 and never worry about the trem again. That way you get to keep what is essentially a great guitar.

i thought about that ...but if im not even using the trem...why go tru the string changing hassle....i prefer getting a different fixed bridge guitar

From a financial stand point I think the Explorer has a higher resale value, but they are 2 totally different guitars. I had both and loved them, Personally I would make the trade, but I would not advise someone else to do the same

its all financial....i prolly would use it a few times and sell it on ****

I've seen people try to get $1000 for Gothic Explorers, not sure if they actually do though. I think a 3120 goes for like $650-$750 but I'm sure someone will correct me if that's wrong.
