IBANEZ DISCONTINUED AT ROSE MORRIS?
I've just learned that a reasonably famous
music store
in London's tin pan alley is getting rid of their Ibanez guitars! They said that they are fed up with their quality issues and will no longer be ordering anymore. They are replacing their ibanez stock with ESPs....
Does anyone know anything about this....?

Re: IBANEZ DISCONTINUED AT ROSE MORRIS?
ESP's are fine axes, and kill most other brands at the higher-end of the scale. Obviously thats just my opinion, but ESP is hardly a "laughable" company is it. I can see where Rose Morris are coming from actually, especially the lower-end models. So it doesnt suprise me. ESP's have a much wider model range and more options at the moment. So maybe Rose Morris are just moving with the times.
Rose Morris obviously feel that ESP's are of a higher quality, selling more, and they will be able to make more money from them. They are a business afterall.

I guess that depends whether they mean ESP, or LTD?

I remember a time years ago when they used to have quite a lot of Ibanez's.

Yeah, that's what the staff member said aswell as they were 'fed' up with Ibanez. I'm happy with my Jem but I was considering a 2nd Ibanez like an RG Prestige, now I guess I have to give ESP a go....

they make a fine guitar. try out a real ESP - they rival the Ibanez JC line. they are just as nice as Jackson USA's too.

the higher LTD line (1000 series) is good stuff but you will shart yourself on the MIJ ESP's. they are bad a**!
i have a Mirage Custom from the early 90's and the only thing i can compare it to would be a USA
Jackson Soloist
with a tad bit wider neck. mine is UGLY (home refinish from someone else) but a monster in features and playability.
the store might not have cultivated the Ibanez line correctly and ordered the wrong ones for the local interest. Ibanez offers alot of different styles, models and price points. if a store can't sell them then IMHO they were ordering the wrong ones for their market. with a little research they could have gotten what the local market wants in Ibanez's and not based its decision on a few lemons. they will find that lemons find their way out of the factories on LTD's too and wait until they place an order and have to wait 3 months or more for the guitars to arrive.

Well I´m not surprised
I just tried some RG3120 prestige out and one JS1200 in my local store.....
Where the f**k did the quality go????
None of them came close to my old RG3120TW and the JS1200 was a big Joke, which never should have left the factory. I talked to the sales guy and he said, "well, you're right....they don´t make them the way they used to, and you are not the first one to notice that. Maybe you should try out some of our ESP' ".
Well that´s just the problem.........I want Ibanez, but it should feel and look like a fine instrument, like my old one and that´s gonna be a problem I think.
I would not be surprised if more and more dealers stopped selling Ibanez.
Another thing is the 3.456.876 differnt models, that nobody can keep up with. So people always ask each other...this model, is that about the same as that one 2 years ago etc.
To be honest.....IMO they are cutting too many corners. I hope it will go the other way in the future
