It's a little gratuitous, but if anything I'd fix that by throwing a blank ebony fretboard on that.

Aside from that... Well, I wouldn't kick it out of bed.

For those of you that want a darker version, there is a Trans Black version of the HRG-2000. I saw it it an Ikebe-Gakki ad in Young Guitar back in 2000. (actually I had that ad blown up and stuck on my locker door back when I was in school, I actually still have one of the print outs I made here.. somewhere..).

I'd still sooooooooo want one of those... one day.. ..it will be mine.....

Beautiful craftsmanship, but way overkill. Get rid of the abalone binding, get black chrome hardware and it's better.

i never liked abalone like that, a more solid colored binding would have been nice. The single coil makes it look a little messy. IMO, A maple fret board with black inlays would be nice.

Looks a bit like one of the waaaayyyy over the top Ibanez Artist thingys from the late seventies - the luthiers version of a pimp-mobile - still I agree, very pretty, just a bit too much for me.

i have a real thing for that abalone purfling/binding.

i'll agree that when it all comes together on that guitar, it's a bit too much. as someone else said, in another colour it could work.

i like it even if only because it's different from every other dark blue middle-of-the-road ibanez offering.
