Ibanez specific "better" production years?

Hey everyone,
I've talked to rich and he told me that Ibanez
made their best prestige\signature guitars
in 2002\3,Someone here knowes something about it?
If it's true, how good these guitars will be than
let's say a 2006\2001 guitar?
I just used to think that their guitars just became
less better crafted from each year, but according to
what I understand a guitar that was made in 02\03 will
be better crafted than a guitar that was made in 01.
(I'm talking about guitars that were made in japan only).
Thanks,
Daniel.

i can't speak from experience, but i'm guessing it's the small details in finishing and fret ends that you'd notice.

I've heard form people like Rich (Ibanez Rules) and other predominet forum members who are very knowledgable about this subject that 2002 was the "best" year as far as fit and finish and selection (it just came together at that time). But I have to say they are still very good now, some of the same people have said they are still (fit and finish wise) better than most other brands for equivalent price ranges. You can't compare features a and functions really, because things like designs and so on are preferential. This si build quality and what arrives to youas far as the fret job the paint and all of the stuff you paid for. Also, the older guitars from the late 80s and early 90s are amazing as well.

The only thing I doubt ibanez on these days are the use of trems and fret finishing technique they are using these days. Let me say though my teachers 3020 plays like nothing, jems, 570's, universes, 470's and 550's just dont compare to it.

I think the fret finishing is above par for guitar makers in the same category and price range. The new trems, well eh.. but yeah they're the shiznit if you ask me.

People dont like change, in 2002 they were useing the lo-pro edge which in my opinion aswell is the best trem ever made by ibanez but yes I have no problems with the EZ trem.
