Ibanez USA Custom Exotic Wood Series
This is my new baby: UCEW1QM-TP. I still can't believe it is mine. It is in excellent condition, no fret wear, even the color on hardware is intact (it is 15 years old!!!). Thank you again Keith!

That's my favorite UCEW. God, that's such a gorgeous guitar--congrats.

Re: Ibanez USA Custom Exotic Wood Series
nice. would like to see a pic taken from the top of the
guitar body
to see the forearm contour, just to see how the top wood looks at that point. i'm assuming with a top that thick it isn't a drop top.

Re: Ibanez USA Custom Exotic Wood Series
Beautiful guitar
, congratulations. I will admit though that I'll never understand why they didn't use
direct mount pickups
on those... covering some of that wood with pickup rings just seems wrong to me

That's a fantastic guitar. I love the large "Ibanez" headstock decals.

Re: Ibanez USA Custom Exotic Wood Series
Congrats and welcome to the
USA Custom Exotic Wood
club!! If you hate the metal
pickup rings
why not get some wooden ones? (or you can always direct mount the pickups and just leave the exposed holes)

Re: Ibanez USA Custom Exotic Wood Series
Thank you guys!
I will take more picture tomorrow, the top looks much better in the daylight.
Top is beautiful, from the top it looks like spalted maple and from angle it is quilted and it is very light stained (with color), so on some places you can see natural maple. But I juts don't understand that this one is basically pink and 92 trans purple UCEW's are really purple (like USRG's). But I like it more and it is a bit unusual.
And it has got serial number starting with F (were necks made in Japan?)
BTW I love pickups rings :-).

Re: Ibanez USA Custom Exotic Wood Series
The USA
Custom Exotic Wood series
were really just RG7xx necks from Japan with custom bodies made by Hosono(aka Electric Sound Products or ESP as we commonly know it as). They were really just assembled and finished in the US. Technically speaking it's Made in the US with parts from Japan.
Either way, you gotta love the UCEW models.
