Re: If Ibanez made YOUR signature model...

Alder bodied Sabre in desert yellow with Dimarzio Evo neck, DiMarzio Blue Velvet middle and a Tone Zone in the bridge, maple fretboard with JEM777DY pyramids, with an original edge trem in chrome (not shown in pic as it was too small to be able to PS it well).

My picture is a bit dodgy cos it's hard to get a decent picture of an FGMDY.

Slight update.

Oh, the bridge would be an EZ, assuming it's good.

Re: If Ibanez made YOUR signature model...

These wouldn't be bad either:

Alder body, bolt-on old-style neck joint, strings through body.
DiMarzio PAF Pro/Tone Zone.

A revival of the old USA-Customs!
Maple neck-thru, mahogany body-wings.
DiMarzio Air Norton/Steve's Special.

now that is a shame, that would have been class IMO. its never too late.

I want to revive this thread a little, I said this would be my sig

but do you think it would look better if it had a flamed maple fretboard?

Re: If Ibanez made YOUR signature model...

Well I don't hink I would go with Ibby if I had a sig actually but here it is anyways

Yup it's a RR V type and to anyone who says, "well that's not original," then just look at all the JEMs around with a paint job. I figure that, while horns look cool and all they are totally unnecessary for playing live, they get in the way. And I like Vs they are a really modern classic.

This isn't an insult, but I am really suprised to see that so many people think the JEM is the perfect guitar for them. Really?

Re: If Ibanez made YOUR signature model...

I'd do these.
Unfortunately, VRG doesn't have a metallic finish option. The first would be the same orange metallic available on the Dodge Ram.

Here's the orange I'm talking about, more or less...

A better version of the Red "strat"

And, a new purple neon! LOL!

Oh, most importantly, they would come stock with a Tone Zone (bridge) HS-3 (single) PAF Pro (Neck)

Re: If Ibanez made YOUR signature model...

Ah. I have thought of this very subject before myself.

I'd choose a JS body, but very slightly larger. I'd then choose an Ultra neck unfinished. Basswood body with a twist - Paint it in conductive paint and plate it in a thin layer of copper. Seymore Duncan pickups. JB in the neck position and a distortion in the bridge. The bridge would be an original Lo Pro edge. Switching would be a simple JS H-HH-H three way toggle. I'd also use the coil tap pot. But would go without the tone tap. I'd take the Jem approach here and have it active at all times. Oh yeah, ebony. Must have ebony on the fretboard. And are titanium frets to much to ask? No. In fact, all the metal hardware must be titanium. I want durable. Very durable. Something that can survive the test of time.

P.S. I love the look of tarnishing copper. I'd never polish it. Hope it turns everyone green with envy. Some pun intended.

Mine is easy...

Take one PGM 10th and remove painted F holes.

Done.

But I still don't get it, this guitar is so full of maple, everything maple,. but yet, they put dimarzio tone zone on it, for both neck and bridge ( correct me if i'm wrong, from the pic I bet those pups are tone zone).
how doest it sounds? it's like 'midrange' factory or something?
