Re: If Ibanez made YOUR signature model...

Well Maple is unusually bright if it is the whole guitar. So Ithink the TZ was probably make the guitar sound fuller and more powerful. An all maple guitar would be twangy as a tele.

The Tone Zone would compensate, IMO.

I agree. I should have said that usually an all maple guitar sounds as twangy as a tele.

Here's a few more I've made in my spare time.

A double-dose of pimpin'

Some more ripped off Fender designs.

I would probably do this one, though.

Re: If Ibanez made YOUR signature model...

I would have 2 sig models. Both Universe models:

1. Basswood body with the back black painted, quilted maple top, carribean burst (blue) op the top all with high gloss clear
Birdseye maple neck with matt finish, with dark rosewood board: no inlays.
A Dimarzio Evolution (zebra) in the bridge and blaze (zebra) for the neck. In the middle a blaze single coil. Black headstock. Chrome Gotoh hardware. Lo-Pro Edge and the prestige filters/ tone/ volume meters.

2. A yellow, orange, black swirl with a lot of lizard on a Alder body. Flamed maple neck with an ebony board with DNA inlay. Black headstock with a white Ibanez logo. Black Gotoh hardware, a Dimarzio Evolution (zebra) in the bridge and blaze (zebra) for the neck. In the middle a blaze single coil. Black Lo-Pro Edge and the prestige filters/ tone/ volume meters.

You guys will see number 2 within a year...

Cheers, Sam
