Re: If Ibanez made YOUR signature model...

Mahogany Body - S series shape, but a little thicker - black stain finish
Cream binding
A bit more weight in the headstock than normal (to help sustain, á la fat finger)
Dark Rosewood Fretboard with offset dot inlays
3 Piece Wizard II profile maple neck with AANJ
ZR II Bridge
Pickups: Seymour Duncan Screamin' Demon (Neck)
Bareknuckle Miracle Man (Bridge)
Both with chrome covers
Odd pairing I know, but gives some nice scope sonically
Controls: One volume, two tone + killswitch (2 way)
5-way switch which goes:
1. Full neck
2. Neck inner coil
3. Two middle coils
4. Bridge inner coil
5. Full bridge
Hardwear in lovely shiny chrome
Comes set up for a standard set of 10s

Re: If Ibanez made YOUR signature model...

Alder body UV Style
Oiled, maybe in a hoast of hidious 80's Prints/Graphics of like stars and the cosmos and some new agey stuff with a dark back ground.
Aum inlay below bridge in a sutable material (White on, ebony in wood)
Maple one peace neck, RG7620 profile/7620 Skunk stripe (they are a little thinner)
24 Frets Jumbo, last 6 frets scalloped.
Ebony fretboard with white binding.
Fret makers would be Chakra lotus styled representations, MOP on the oiled, hidious green, yellow and pink for graphics.
Lo-Pro Trem, deep rout for whammy stunts.
Black Pick Guard for oiled (read 7 string bad horise rip of hahaha) clear for 80's style.
5 Way jem styled switch, Vol Tone.
Evo7, Blaze Single and a Fred 7 in the neck (i know they exist, but only as custom orders only... i love the Fred) or Evo, Blaze, Blaze neck. White for oiled, green or yellow in cosmic colors. Or maybe green and yellow.

Id call it the Cosmos... Steve can have the Universe y needs are not so epic...
Be the worlds most New Age guitar baby.

Ed: With an RPP of $1000 USD. Else i wouldnt endorse it, and it would HAVE to be MIJ.

Peace

Re: If Ibanez made YOUR signature model...

Could have sworn i'd seen Vai using something that looked very similiar...Anyone know how mutch it would cost to have somebody actually build a guitar like this?

Neck - JEM Prestige neck
- Ebony Fretboard + Tree of Life
- Maple neck
Body - Basswood with Binding + Monkey Grip
Pickups - DiMarzio Evolution Set
Bridge - Ibanez EDGE gold
AANJ neck Joint

Re: If Ibanez made YOUR signature model...

If Ibanez made MY signature model, it would be a RG565 styled Saber (like a 540S-SH).

Body: Saber style, or something like it (EDR?); Mahogany
Neck: 5-Piece Maple/Walnut Wizard Prestige-something; Bound Maple fingerboard; Reversed headstock; Off-set small dots on 12th fret.
Bridge: ZR2 trem Cosmo Black
Pickups: Neck: Single sized Air Norton; Bridge: Tone Zone
Controls: 1 Volume, 1 Tone (with coil tap), two on-off switches (540S-SH style)
Finish: OPP (Obnoxious Purple) with matching headstock and inlays, Cosmo Black hardware.

Re: If Ibanez made YOUR signature model...

First one would be the shape of ESP's Alexi Laiho sig but with an unfinished, set-thru Wizard 2 Prestige neck (Yeah, I'm a dreamer). 2 SD distortions with 2 Vol, 1 Tone and a Lo Pro Edge in black, 2 thin blue pinstripes. Mahogany body, Ebony Fingerbaord, 500k Volumes and 1 meg tone with a push pull coil tap.

Second would be and RG body in mahogany with either The Fred/Paf Pro or SD Distortion/Pearly Gates and a middle pickup that won't get in my way. Same neck and contruction as before. Paint job would be something like the cover of Nightwish's Oceanborn Album. To be more specific, the background to my myspace. I may buy a body and have someone airbrush that on. Edge pro trem.

Both Trems would have stabilizers.

Re: If Ibanez made YOUR signature model...

Mine would be similar to Chris Broderick's RG.
...Or it would be a Destroyer like this=

i love the elegant looks of these. in terms of specs, TZ in bridge, PAF pro neck and original edge bridge.

i'm a sucker for those big JPM-style ibanez logos and binding.

Re: If Ibanez made YOUR signature model...

I've been really attract to some V shaped guitars lately, kind of strange when you think I was literally hating them as a youngster and that I'm not a metal fan by any means.
So I would most likely do something based on their VTB700 (why it was discontinued between, legal issue? poor sales?). I would go with some remake of most people 3 favorite models:
A tele like:
VBT shaped ash body a bit narrower (7/8 same length) but thicker, bolt on 24 frets wizard 2, Maple neck and fretboard, 25.5 scale, reverse head stock, good looking tuners, earvana nut, area T pick ups.
A Strat like:
The same but alder body, rosewood fretboard, same bridge as the AT300 model (some Wilkinson), area 61,67,58 as pick ups (versatile and noiseless set).
A gibson like:
the same characteristics but mahogany body, set in neck, locking TOM with strings through body, two humbuckers pickups say PAF 36th in bridge custom EJ in neck.
