Info on this RG Prestige?

I got this RG Prestige for a few months now, my first Ibanez so I have no idea what you can tell from the serials and all. So please take a look and gimme more info on this guitar, when was it made, where, or who made it, etc. especially the neck - doesn't it have to do with 'JEM 555'?

Pictures of the rest of the guitar?

It's a 2003 and was made in Japan. All I can tell at the moment.

Re: Info on this RG Prestige?

Indeed, MIJ, RG2550EX GK (Left hander), 2003 model.

The 555 is just a serial number and has nothing to do with a JEM555.

Should be a pretty damned good guitar.

You should probably get your money back - they made it backwards.

Re: Info on this RG Prestige?

Oh, okay, some other shots of the guitar. They are pretty big files...

Can you tell me more about it? I tried looking up for information on the internet but since it's lefty, there's not much about it.

The neck seems to be a 3 piece with a volute, different from those on righty models? and it is noticeable thinner than a Wizard-II (which, actually, 'fits like a glove' in my hands).

The righty version is not exactly the same, that's why I'm asking. The only lefty RG Prestige I found on the internet right now is the RG1570L.

Re: Info on this RG Prestige?

You should look for either of the following:
RG2550EX GK
RG2550E GK

Drop the L and you'll find what you're looking for.

It is pretty much the same as the RG2550Z, only difference being the Edge Zero trem on the new (Z) models.

Re: Info on this RG Prestige?

The 2003 models (left and right handed) had a 3 piece maple neck, they used 5 piece maple/walnut from 2005.

I took these photos when it first arrived home.

The only difference is that it's left handed, everything else is the same, basswood body, 3 piece maple neck, rosewood fretboard, brown mirror dots, powder cosmo hardware, Dimarzio/IBZ pups etc.

Ok, but you still should've took pics after you'd removed the plastic film !!! Bet it looks much better !!

Re: Info on this RG Prestige?

The dots are those "inviso-dots" that are visble only when viewed from certain angles.

They're called 'brown mirror dots' - quite unusual !
