Ishibashi

Hi guys,

I heard that the stock that Ishibashi ships out are B stock. That explains why they are able to price their stuff way below the prices listed by Ibanez Japanese site. Was wondering if any one of you has heard of this.

Re: Ishibashi

First I've heard of this, but considering they were carrying one of the original 300 DNA's makes me question a comment like that, and I was actually there in person to see it!

Man...it's a dilemma. I'm now contemplating to invest in a 8670. It's either from Ishibashi which is charging considerably low price or through my local dealor who told me that he only brings in A stock from Ibanez and is quoting me the price from Ibanez Japan.

Re: Ishibashi

pfft! I doubt the B stock thing. I've seen posts from lots of people here that have bought very nice high end guitars from Ishibashi and were happy. And why would Ibanez have A and B stock? Unless the Ishibashi guitar is stamped "second" or "used" on the back of the headstock I wouldn't worry about it.

And the source is the dealer that's charging you more right? Self explanatory?

Rich...so u reckon it's pretty safe getting direct from Ishibashi? It's like SGD$3150 from Ishibashi (inclusive of shipment) and SGD$3670 from that dealer. It's my first time dealing online. Thanks alot.

Re: Ishibashi

I bought 2 Lizard DNA's from Itchy [yup, that's where they were hiding!]. Of course their prices are less than Japanese list. Dealers do discount, but they aren't THAT much less. Discounts in Japan are thin, as they obviously are where you live.

Buying local is always a good thing, but some of these foreign markets give you no warranty on the purchase whatsoever. If one years warranty is important to you, check and make sure you'd get it. If building a relationship with a local dealer is important to you, is there ANY value added service by buying there? Then go back and tell them you've been told flat out Itchy doesn't deal in anything B stock, because there is no B stock, and have them discount it to a point you're willing to spend your money there for any extra service or warranty protection you'd attain. Or, walk away and import. Choices are yours

I have purchased a few Lefty Japanese RG's from Ishibashi that just are not available in the states & both transactions went off without a hitch. All 4 guitars looked great. I highly doubt that Ibanez Japan has any B stock at all.

Re: Ishibashi

I also believe that you got some Ed Roman level infos. I ordered a 970 xl from Ishibashi and there was nothing about it to indicate it was B stock. It had the typical Ibanez half ass fret leveling but all their guitars are that way, unles of course you happen to find the one in 20 that is ok.

So far, Ishibashi seems ot do an excellent job of selling people a quality instrument. THey could probably improve their English skills a bit

Re: Ishibashi

Funny English Translation I got from the Ishibashi Site...Its about the JS1000.

........................
Fret that is harder and taller than fingerplate of the are or more and a general vintage type promises an ultimate play ability. It plays for years even if a right and left, asymmetric problem by the handcraft is adopted, and it plays it for the first time and the feeling of crowded vintage can be tasted. The output of a single coil sound is also possible from each ham backer according to the coil tap switch and three way toggle switch of the vintage style. As for the volume jar of push/Pl, the amount of the bass is equipped with the high passing filter that keeps the clearness of high-end.
........................

I want that "Ham Backer"

Re: Ishibashi

A and B stock? Ibanez? Sounds like a rumour. Considering their... dare I say uneven QA across the board, I doubt they care* enough to divide it up.

Care to point me in the right direction to find them? I have yet to see one on their site, but my Jap skills are not that great so I may have over looked them.
