J custom issue

Hey, does anyone have a J custom from 2003 with the new edge bridge.. do you guys dislike the bridge.. personally i think it sucks and i would like the old edge.. I have a J Custom RG8527VV which is a 7 string. ibanez.com USA has the older, better style replacement edges in the same color(or so they show them.. don't know how i can come across one).. Will the old bridge fit in place of the new easily???

This has already been discussed in a couple of other threads.

In a word, no. The LoPro and Edge trems are NOT retrofittable to the EdgePro-equipped guitars.

There's nothing "wrong" with the Edge Pro, I feel negligable difference between it and a Lo Pro. What is your actual complaint with the bridge?

ok i have the j custom with the new bridge and the rg3120 with the older bridge. the j custom bridge feels very stiff and doesn't seem to hold tune very well at all whereas the 3120 is very smooth and stays in tune even with dive bombs... if you know how i might make the new bridge better .. by all means.. let me know...

It feels stiff because you have 47mm springs in it, change them with the 3120 springs and let it be the stiff one

I have an '03 8527 with the Edge Pro & 47mm springs and it's the most stable guitar I've ever played.

I'll never let her go...

but I've been known to change my mind

Ibanez Edge Pro Trem

The Ibanez Edge Pro Trem RULES! it is the "BEST" TREM yet other than you have to contact rich at IBANEZ RULES and buy yourself a LOCKING STUD SETUP!!! I have a J CUSTOM RG8527VV and did the stud conversion and it made a BIG difference in STABILITY and SUSTAIN!!!
The EP Trem Rocks....Check one out you'll agree.
later,
Jim

It's the 8527 club.

For what I got mine for, I think I did rob them
