J-custom MRG-4 and MRG-5...beautiful must see!
http://www.kurosawagakki.com/ibanez1_vo2.html
Thought I just had to share this website. Good pictures.
I know they are very limited edition and were only distributed to certain stores in japan. I also know I want one of each.
Mabey jemsite would like to use the pics/info as I haven't seen either on the site. (I have seen the "tom anderson look-a-like" in forums though)
****ing beautiful!

One of these days, Ibanez will stop using so much mahogony and get to using
swamp ash
and alder. When they do, ........I'm there.

The second one without the pickguard was quite lovely.

Oh my f**king god!!! Those are soooooooooo beautiful! I've got to get one. I wish they would make them in cherry sunburst and with
black pickguard
, then I would get one right away(if I could find one.) Ibanez should sell those things to over seas. Those would be nice new RG models. Sadly, I will never see one here in Finland.

Re: J-custom MRG-4 and MRG-5...beautiful must see!
It says their both made from "SOUTH AMERICAN MAHOGANY" though sadly I cannot tell you if that is special wood or what. Anyone care to enlighten?
Also some of you might have missed this link on the page

just wow
Quilted maple
top, flamed
maple binding
, incredible looking tree of life inlay...all the aesthetics I adore.

Re: J-custom MRG-4 and MRG-5...beautiful must see!
South American Mahogany is usually also known as Honduran Mahogany, which is one of the most favourable tonewood in the Mahogany family. If you look at a lot of high-end custom luthiers, my bet it that they use Honduras Mahogany (or South American Mahogany). Unlike some of you here, Mahogany has to be my favourite tonewood (though I do love my strat very deeply
).
Flamed maple
binding, vine inlay, those guitars are simply gorgeous! The only things I would like it to have is a flamed maple top and
Paf Pro pickups
.

I believe those are
custom models
made by ibanez to commemorate their relationship with that particular store.

Re: J-custom MRG-4 and MRG-5...beautiful must see!
Those are some custom one off's Ibanez made for Kurosawa this year. Last year Kurosawa had a bunch of custom RG8520's made. Gurj actually just bought a used one off Ishibashi (he's got pics of it at the "show your j-customs" thread). If I recall, the MRG models are all custom/special models made for Kurosawa-gakki, HRG are custom models for Ikebe-gakki and the YCRG's are for Yamano-Music.
Dunno how many of these "custom custom" models are out there, but every once in a while Guitar Center gets something like that done. (ie. the
Texas Prestige
models and various other exclusive models).

I'd love to get the one with the pickguard with a swamp ash or alder back. Or all swamp ash, for that matter. Very good looking instruments, the gold looks nice on them.

Jim777, you're making me want to keep my all swamp ash RG1302 now. Maybe I should keep it, refinish it and pop a pickguard on it. Hhhmmm..
