Is english your first language? PLEASE say no.

anyway, $2300 is a large wad of cash to spend on a guitar. consider a J-Custom for that much $$.

Re: j-custom or jem???

The only disadvantage I can think of owning a Jem is the pressumption that people have that you're a Steve Vai wannabe when you play up on stage with a Jem. For some people it's no biggie for others, it's a thing they want to avoid.

And yes, the Jem77BRMR is a bit of a fingerprint magnet. No complaints about the the Jem7WVH aside from what was mentioned aboved.

(I used to think Jems were the best things around but once I got my first J-Custom I never looked back)

Nice.

It's more based on preference. The JEM somewhat bridges the gap between Prestiges and J Customs. Specs wise they're loads different and disadvantages are from one's point of view. For me, the only disadvantage of a Jem is what Budd has stated above. If you have the chance, you should play them both, but seeing as J-Customs aren't as common as JEMs, comparing the two will be a bit difficult.
