J Custom RG8420FE BX pictures

I got me a 2007 Ibanez J Custom RG8420FE BX last week. I got it on evilbay from a guy in Japan. After I got my pink J Custom I've been all about the J Customs, they just plain are the best Ibanez makes period. I know it's black, and I'm usually the 1st one to complain about black guitars, but these J Customs are awesome, plus the JC vine looks killer on black axes. It looks better in person, pictures just don't do this axe justice.

Congratulations! Thanks for posting the pics. Seriously considering one of these myself. Usually prefer offset dots to vines, but on this guitar, it looks great as everything else is nicely understated. Potentially my ultimate 6 string J-custom.

I'm torn between this and the alder RG8320. I'd be swapping the EMG81 bridge pickup to an EMG85, which I know suits alder very well (that's the combo on my Jackson and it rocks). I'm just worried the EMG85 might be too muddy in mahogany and lose its charm. I'd be hoping an RG8420 with bridge EMG85 would have the warmth of my mahogany guitars that my alder Jackson lacks, but still be tight, aggressive and responsive to palm muting in drop C tuning. Everyone's opinions are useful, but at the end of the day I guess there's only one way I'm going to find out. GAS attack imminent :-)

I love the way those frets are finished. That is what frets should look like as far as I am concerned. Oh and the rest is not bad either.

Congratulations dude, that is one amazing-looking guitar.
