Re: J Custom RG8470A

I know enough about it not to advertise what model I am looking for before I find one

RG8470AVV. 26 produced, only available in VV finish, basically an RG8270VV but made with super high quality flame maple and a matching flamed headstock instead of non-matching rosewood. If they had done them in TB I would probably buy one

The problem is you can't get a deal on one and all the ones I've seen so far have had splotchy looking stained tops.

Re: J Custom RG8470A

Interesting.... that just looks like it's stained in more of a burst than a uniform finish... which I actually kind of like

As for getting a deal, I thought that usually didn't happen for one-time buyers purchasing a single new instrument?

VV is a burst.
5% discount is about it.

Have to agree with you, the body texture looks more obvious and awesome than ,say, the RG8270F.

Re: J Custom RG8470A

Glad you guys like it. The wood I'll take, the dark splotchy stain I'll pass on

Lol actually, I don't like VV finishes at all, so it's a moot point for me... that and I'm out of cash after the 8670 and JPM90 I've picked up... otherwise I'd be getting one of the HRG04 BXs
