JCustom RG8470 tone?

For those of you who have one or have tried one would you describe them as bright or warm? I ask because I notice the maple top looks thicker than a veneer but thinner than an archtop. I owned an RGA321F up until a few months ago and always found it way too bright, but I think this may have been the pickups. Wondering if the 8470 sounds the same?

Thanks.

I won't be the same as your RgA321F as the maple on the RGA321 is MUCH thicker. After owning a whole bunch of J-customs with a similar mahogany body/maple top combo, I can say that it's pretty warm sounding.

almost TOO warm for me... Remember that the 8470 comes with a Tone Zone and an Air Norton, 2 warm sounding pickups, especially the TZ... not very defined on the lower range I think...

I think I will change it to a EVO 2 in the near future..... ceramic pickups also tend to have tighter bass....
