Cool

just found a RG 2550EGK!!!

hay i just found a prestige model 2550E here in the states on sale for 650 US$ !!! i couldn't pass it up. I put a down payment on it :P

They also had an RGA 121 for 900. I like the natural finish on the 121. I was wondering if you guys could help enlighten me on the differences between the two. like the Gibraltar Plus bridge on the 121 vs. the edge pro on the 2550.

Thanx!!

Yeah, that pretty much covers it. Aside from those things, the guitars are pretty much the same. Of course, they probably sound totally different because of those things listed.

So what is the neck technically called? a Super Wizard? a Wizard 2? ...or is it just a new "Wizard Prestige" .. as labeled on ibanez.com?

Super Wizard was the neck profile before 2003, Wizard II is found on Korean models and on some Japanese models. So yes, the 121 and 2550 have the same neck profile.

i see most of the new heads say "prestige" above the Ibanez logo, and i've seen a few with "Team J" above the ibanez logo (not just on the back of the head).

You guy know the differences between these necks?

yeah, no doubt. this is the perfect guitar to customize or play right out of the box. I'm very anxious to get mine. I'm going to drop spme breeds in and I'll have a Black Horsie to match the chrome one LOL!

Re: just found a RG 2550EGK!!!

I'll get a hold of you, I've seen some great mirrored pickguards on this guitar and they look great. My question is how do you get the guard over the knobs, I assume they twist off, but don't they then lose some tension in the knob? I can't see any other hassle of switching the pickguard.

Send me a link!

Re: just found a RG 2550EGK!!!

the knobs have a set screw to undo and they pull off and then undo the locking nut to the pot , no biggy realy, as for the breeds i have one and its sweet sounding, thats another thread though

Re: just found a RG 2550EGK!!!

..well, the guitar is in town!....I don't see myself replacing the pickguard immediately, but perhaps I'll pick up a mirrored one just for laughs even though I won't use it right away. So the pickups are a headache, eh?...send me a pm if you like and I'll get in touch.
