Just got the new FR2620 *pics*
Just want to post some pictures of the new Ibanez FR2620 I got today.
I have been horny to get my hands on one since the first time I saw a picture of one at the Ibanez distributor here in Sweden last year. But I have been away playing in France since December and have not had a chance to get one until now.
After seeing it on picture did I think that is it one of the coolest looking guitars Ibanez ever made, and still it looked even better in real life, I just love they way it looks.
It feels very much like a high-end RG to play and felt like home directly out of the box. Well, after changing the thin stings and pulling the action up a lot (silly low from factory), that is. Now it play’s very, very nice and have a great response and sustain to it, rich in frequencies unplugged and can probably be colored to any sort of sound by changing pickups in that direction I want the sound.
I’m gone do a DiMarzio clinic the 10th of May at Fuzz Guitarshow here in Sweden and this will defiantly be my main guitar then (a guitar have never moved that fast for me before). I think a lot of my RG’s will be hanging on the wall for a long time now (but I have said that before when I have gotten excited over some new guitar).
Anyway, here are some pics.
I think it looks best without the pickguard, what do you guys think?
/Magnus

Definately looks much better w/o the guard, too bad about the screw holes though.

Yeah, I agree, it looks better without.
But I don't care about the screw holes (even if I would prefer if they wasen't there), it probably looks scrached and full of marks soon anyway.

You could always cut a clear pickguard for it- would look cool and protect the guitar too. I think its a great guitar either way!

I think I like the colors your Euros get better than the ones we Yanks get. I'd hate to admit but maybe we're on the wrong side of the "taste" curve.

Nice!
Paul Gilbert
used the black one for a song at the clinic I saw recently. I've always been as much a Telecaster guy as I am an Ibanez guy so I really need to get one of these some day. Then I'll throw in some Duncan Phat Cats or something and raise hell.

Awesome guitar!
Paul Gilbert played a black one at the clinic I was at too. Great looking guitar, although a maple board would be so much better.

Just a nice whole shot of the back and maybe a close-up of the body's back. I'm just curious
I agree about the maple board comment!

Here are two back shots (that could meen something very ***ish :-) ).
I agree that it would be cool with a maple board, but I don't mind the rosewood. I have change the pups and made a better setup now and it really plays fantastic. I'm super happy with it!
