Nice guitar, HDS! That looks like a beauty and I bet it plays like one too. I would encourage you to try and keep all the original wiring intact while stripping and cleaning the guitar.

will look sweet when you get her "washed".

Regarding the switch, I have an 90 jackson fusion that has a switch like that that engages a wah effect. Maybe something similar? don't know.

The owner before my bypassed it. (Good cuz it was totally *** effect. LOL)

Here some shots, you can see the finish needs to be repaired, this is something i havent attemped without stripping the whole guitar, which I cant do to the art work. So I have to mach the colors and airbrush and spot reclear.

I played this a few times while it sat here at GC JAX. Came close to purchasing it myself! However the condition was a little rough for the price they were asking. Glad to see it went to a good home and that she is being cleaned-up and restored. She played and sounded great even in the condition it was in. Good Luck!

Did you flick that toggle switch? Did it do anything?

If I remember correctley it was a coil (split) (tap) whatever? Like my old RBM. It had a little toggle switch (coil tap) for the bridge humbucker.

Nice guitar! That is a factory coil splitter. It also came in the usgr3 (grim reaper). Good luck and play the hell out of her.

Re: Just scored a Usa Custom UCGR2

Thanks guys!

Shes is coming along awsomely! I did drop fills in alot of the finish and the super glue trick works great! The Edge cleaned up and looks like new.

Spiderman, Im glad ya didnt Before I took her appart I played her and yes she sounded great and plays awsome! Funny being all my guitars have PAF Pros and they all sound differnt LOL. My 770DX is the closest in wood and still sounds diffrent then the UCGR.

Great score!! I love the USA Customs and regret selling my "Ice World" back in 1994. I recently won a "Necromancer's Castle" and am always looking for other graphics. Yours has some character and I bet would make an excellent player.
