Cool

LACS Guitars

Hi all, i'm new here (be gentle)

I was wondering - what's it like dealing with the LA Custom Shop?

(stupid question) but is it overly expensive?

Just curious on people's experiences etc.

Cheers

Josh

Josh,

The LACS is for endorsed artist only, and does no outside work.

Re: LACS Guitars

Would the LACS make a Jem custom for someone who isn't Vai?

I suppose, but why?

If you can have the LACS make you whatever you want, why would you want an RG with a hole cut in it?

Re: LACS Guitars

maybe because some of us love(the look of) and use the monkey grip? ..this is Jemsite isn't it?
been discussed many times and far as i'm concerned it may make the guitar minutely lighter and doesn't sound any different to any human being

but i'd agree if you meant that huge 'front route' hole. it's a stupid fender idea, rear route with pickguards all the way!

Re: LACS Guitars

yea most people are hear because the banter and tech advice is better than anywhere else rather than because they own Jems

Im assuming LACS are awesome to deal with, they give you free guitars, only prob is you have to impress ibanez enough for them to give you stuff

Well I reckon if you have a cool idea for a Jem you could go mad. At least that'd be my first inquiry..

Re: LACS Guitars

Craftsmanship on the LACS I recently aquired seems quite a bit more detailed. Im sure that can be directly attributed to the specific builder in LA and the artist's input, but the neck shape on on the RG7 I have is unlike anything I have ever seen in a production 7. Of course there are no production 3 piece/reverse headstock 7 necks to compare it to.

Pics this weekend on ss.org I promise. I freaking love the guitar. Im gonna experiment with pickups and push/push taps on the 4 pots in the guitar for crazy tone combinations. I cant believe Ive been missing out on LACS instruments all this time!

Re: LACS Guitars

Yes sir, I owe you pix of the Hrg4 as well. Im thinking I might do a group 7 string shot or 2. I dont think I have had all my 7's out at once in a long time.
