Long time since a NGD with another Ibanez

Having sold off pretty much all my Ibanez RGs years ago (yes, I still have all my Paul Gilbert models), and not really looking for any more...I picked up this not really "abused", but certainly neglected RG3120 recently. After some new parts and a full tune up, she plays like wet glass, and sounds great.

The late '90's, early '00's 3120s really were the best Ibanez guitars that ever came to the US (gray market J Customs excluded), and I would not hesitate to pick up another one.

Well another off the list... on to the next guitar.

Nice one.I still have a red 3120 as one of my main players. When they came out, I remember thinking- finally an ibanez I don't have to change in anyway.Enjoy!

Re: Long time since a NGD with another Ibanez

Nice. I went through a long period in my 20's where I didn't play at all and sold off my only guitar (A '96 USRG30BT). When I decided that I wanted to get back into playing, I was considering all sorts of stuff, including a new RG2550 that Guitar Center had a good price on.

Then I spotted a pretty used RG3120TW sitting on their used wall and after playing it, it was all over. The guitar was just amazing, way better than my USRG30 (which I always try and tell people was kind of a crap guitar all things considered). Too bad they were asking way too much considering the cosmetic condition, so I had to pass. But shortly after I found a nice DR, which I only ever got rid of because I got a J Custom.

Any reason why later model (mid 2000's) wouldn't be as good? I know I don't need another guitar but....you know. GAS.

I remember having one or several of these through the years and I've regretted selling it. Have to put that on my list as one of those to get at some point.

No, other than having the Edge Pro.
