The first guitar purchase of the new year:
I was just about ready to order/import an 1880 when I saw this one on e-bay. I love the color of it--It's a very distinct green compared to the standard Ibanez greens.
So, it's not an RG-Metal, or an RG-Gear, but I'll probably play it a lot more.

I just noticed the final bid price. $660. Is he actually going to sell it for that price? Or did you agree on a higher price? $660 is beyond a steal!!
And isn't the seller, rickboot, a forum member? That name is awfully familiar. Maybe I just recognize it from past auctions?

Yeah...that's Rick Allen's former 1880. *Nice ride. I got to play it a Jemfest 2000. *Oh yeah- Rick's cool too. *:-)
Congrats on the 1880, Brent! *

Thanks, thanks, thanks, thanks, and thanks. (phew!)
The seller is Rick Allen, though not the famous drummer with only one arm. He seems cool, so far. He must be cool if he had a guitar like that.
We agreed on a somewhat higher price. $660 would've been a steal. Even I would've felt guilty about that!

Congratulations on the nice guitar. I've actually seen a
custom guitar
that looks almost exactly like that one. It was built by this guy in Sweden. Enjoy the guitar man!

Brent,
Glad you like the RG-1880. That guitar is honestly one of the best made guitars I have ever owned (and I own quite a few!). I would have kept her but I just couldn't get used to the neck. Take good care of her!
Now I am almost J-Custom-less. Will I get banned from this area of the forum or does the RG7CT count?

Rick--
I was told the RG7CT didn't count, but if you ask me, it should! It's a sweet axe!

FWIW the RG7CT is not on the official J-Custom list from Ibanez Japan. These are the only two 7's listed
1999
RG7-PB1 - clear blue
RG7-PB2VV *(probably the CST in the USA)

RG7-PB2VV is the official designation for the CST.

I know some of you have the upmost knowledge on the
j- customs, I was wondering if you could shine some
light on a brotha-
I own one of the Rg 6 CSTs
(the one with the Peizos)
Where does this one rank?
Me, I think it's the nicest guitar I've played- I love it!
Even more then the ole 90th, that might be because
I'm scared to touch it- hee hee! o-well!
thanks
Jeff

Don't forget the RG7-1-VL, which appears pretty similar to a RG7CT, minus the striped ebony headstock, but with binding around the neck and headstock.
Kevan has a pic from Ishibashi at his site:
http://www.lakecatamountrealty.com/jcustom/
This is the first I have heard anything about the RG7-PB1 (although I guessed it might exist due to the CST's official designation). Please someone tell me where I can find more info about it.
