My New J-Custom!!(added pics)

hi, I'm new here
I just got my new j-custom 1302 from Japan!!
it's produced in 1995...with swamp ASH body..
I played it only 20 minutes...and maaaaaan...It's ROCKS!!!
no complaints about 1302 now, but I'd better change pickups..
I'd appreciate if you guys recommand some HOT ones that fit J-custom..
addicted to Alexi Laiho's sound these days so I'm crazy about EMGs..but I'm also interested in other Dimargios, or Duncan, Bill Lawrence...etc.
Thanks!

JW

Awesome looking thing, but I'd think it'd look nicer without the sticker .

Re: My New J-Custom!!

There's not alot of different EMG's. So if you want the most balanced EMG bridge pup, go for an 85 or the splitable 89 or 89r. THe 81 is alot more scooped and has an insane amount of treble response. For neck, the 85, 89 are both nice choices and the EMG 60 has a unique sound. Nothing else out there really sounds like a 60. For the EMG 60 sound , think of Metallica's " Nothing Else Matters" intro.

Since you're playing through a GT-6, your guitar tone is going to get super squashed. But if you wnat to get pickups, Dimarzio's TOne Zone, Evolution, Steve's Special, Drop SOnic, Double Whammy are all hot pickups. The right one will depend on what you want your guitar to do more or less of.
