My new Prestige!

Just got my first good Ibanez!! Its a 2620. Im not a huge fan of the colors offered by Ibanez, but I really like the cubed pewter finish on this one, very unique I think. I just put on the tremol-no, works great for dropping the d-string or if I need to do any 3 string country bends. I thought the trem would have me in a straight jacket by now but I took some time and read up on them and Im fully confident in setting it up and keeping it in tune and level.

The neck on this guitar is amazing! Its sooo easy to play. Ill pick up my LP and it feels kinda silly fat after playing the Ibanez. THe pickups are decent, I may or may not change them, Ill wait a few months to really get to know them first. The weight too is a nice change from the LP. Very light and easy to play. Im really liking this guitar!

Nice! I didn't realise Ibanez were doing cubed pewter. I very nearly bought the cubed blue once.

Re: My new Prestige!

Those are some very nice close-ups. Is the body actually made of two pieces of wood, or is that just a regular binding?

Re: My new Prestige!

The finish is textured. Not extremely but slightly. It has a very nice satin feel to it.

Its just a regular binding as far as I can tell.

Re: My new Prestige!

Just got mine as well 3 days ago. The pickups take a bit getting used to. They are thick as heck sounding. I plan to use it in the counrty band I pllay in. The neck pickup it surprising NOT boomy muddy playing chords and noodling lower on the neck. I do love the quite wide and nearly flat profile of the fret board.
