My PGM301 is going off to Sims Custom Shop tomorrow :)

For the past 10 days or so I've been working on a design for a new retro (80's/90's) finish for my new PGM301. I finally finalized it yesterday and decided to send it off to SCS.

The new design still incorporates the F holes and I also borrowed the pinstriping idea from seeing Josh P's PGM301 and I added a little twist to it. I did about 20 mock-ups in Photoshop before I "perfected" it. I think those of us with a taste for guitars from the hey day of metal will love it.

Anyway, I'm really psyched to get this done. I spoke with Patrick on the phone today and he was super helpful.

And Patrick, if you read this, please don't give any more details or post any pics of it before you send it to me.

I really want it to be a surprise to me and everyone else when it's done.

Rest assured, I'll be posting pics of it when I get it back.

what do you figure, two or three weeks turn around from SCS? be a nice way to start or finish off the year with a new, shiny paintjob.

Because fo the holidays, I'm looking at a 6-8 week turnaround time. No big deal. I've waited up to 6 months for custom guitars in the past so 6-8 weeks is nothing. It will go by quickly I'm sure. Besides, I'm a patient man.

Yes, I have pretty detailed Photoshop images. I had to in order to figure out most of the details but I'm not in a hurry to post them. I want to try and wait for the real thing to arrive first.

BTW, I'll be posting pics over at the Racer X boards too. I think the folks over there will really appreciate it.

Well, I hit the 2 week mark today (since I sent the guitar) so if all goes as planned, I'm down to 4-6 weeks until it's done and ready to be reassembled. I won't be posting pics until I get it all back together.

Once this one is out of the way, Patrick and I should have something even more cool in store for my other PGM301.
