My RG2027X vv - Sad Story

She arrived yesterday, however, this is a bad Evilbay story, she was quoted as a 9.5 guitar, she has many chips/dings on the back & side, which the seller is now stating it, happened when given to UPS to pack. It was suppose to been shipped in a soft case, but arrived in bubble wrapped and boxed with packing peanuts, no soft case and damage to the big box it was in, and the guitar was snug inside the box, and could not move, plus no chips or anything in the bag it was in so this did not happen while in plastic.

To add to this the trem and input jacks are tarnished. I still have to figure out the double input jacks, but it seems the top one only the Piezo works and other position is dead.

Even if you ask a lot of question, you still can get rooked. There is a lot more on this story, but it gets me mad, that they can still lie about something they are selling and fall back on it was someone else fault. They offer a refund, as merchant credit, but they are not a store, nor do they sell a lot of guitars.

Does anyone have a wiring diagram for this guitar with the LoPro "Double Edge" 7 with Piezo pickup? Also exactly how the 2 jacks and turning on and off the Peizo is suppose to work.

Any input would be helpful,

Here is a image from the auction and one I took to compare, which they said it clearly shows no chips near the input jacks, (Hopefully you do not run you monitors dark, or you can pick them out if you know what your looking at.) Also I find it very tricky to provide a image online that is cropped and slightly blurred where issues are.

Compare.

Re: My RG2027X vv - Sad Story

Hmm, that's not cool. I'm damn sure I wouldn't rate that as a 9.5. Still, it's better to have a chipped 2027 than to not have a 2027 at all. But major congratulations on your acquisition!
The little button below the piezo/magnetic is to change the output mode. If I remember correctly, when the button is down then both outputs are run through the output on the right, and when the button is up then the outputs are split. The middle knob (piezo volume) is also affected by the button.
I have to admit I've not experimented with this on my 2027 yet, I don't have access to either a p.a. or an acoustic amp at the moment. In every other regard I've found this guitar to actually live up to all the hype surrounding it. I'm anxious to get the KJG Mod done though, I'd recommend it if you replace the tarnished outputs jacks.

Re: My RG2027X vv - Sad Story

IMHO you are making a big deal out of nothing. That RG2027X is pretty clean, and those tiny details could well be the product of the shipment or handling while packing. I dont think the seller was traying to cheat you at all.

There are 2 "switchs" you have to turn in order to switch from one output to the other (the switch and the button).

I dont know how much you paid for it, but that is a VERY clean RG2027X and I would probably grade above 9/10. That is hardly a chiped 2027X, it has a few minor blemishes and thats about it.

IMHO, you should be glad. I dont really understand what you are whinning about....

from e-bay be thankful you got the axe at all

you need to take the "gradings" with a dose of salt and get HIGH RES photos of every angle if you expect anything more than VERY GOOD quality stuff from any seller... glen

Re: My RG2027X vv - Sad Story

Sorry to hear it man - I wondered what happened to this auction. I was suspicious with it as it went along as originally he had a stock photo, then added those very poor quality cellphone pics, then stated he was taking offers and "it could end soon!" and then retracted that. I had a few choice words about how that whole thing was handled. Smelled bad all the way (what a jerk).

Are you plugged in to the jack on the right in your photo? That's the one that will run the mag pups with the mini switch toward the pups and the black button pushed in. It would be odd if the mag pups didn't work.

At least you didn't pay mint 2027 price!

Good luck!

Are you serious?! It was sold as mint and it's nowhere near! Especially the tarnished hardware.

Whining :/

Re: My RG2027X vv - Sad Story

As I said it has more issues and I do not think its a 9.5, I had to get all the pictures together, the front looks great, its just not what I expected to get when they clearly stated no chips, or dings.

It's an electronic modification that facilitates mixing the magnetic and piezo pups into the same jack.

Did you get the magnetic pups working?

Re: My RG2027X vv - Sad Story

The harware seems to be a tarnished on the bass side in that pic (at least thats what I see).

Initially he jsut showed 3 minor details all on the same place near the jacks. Now with this new pics, it shows that the guitar has several chips and dings but this is a different picture alltoghether. With this new pics Id say the guitar is in very good condition, and I would rate it as an 8/10

I understand that you may be slightly dissapointed about the guitar now.

Re: My RG2027X vv - Sad Story

Puhleeeze...

I'm getting tired of (and you're catching me on the wrong end of a not so hot sale on said auction site) the nonsense that goes on. Granted it reeked of less than honest description at auction and a lesson was learned but there's no reason to not be entirely up-front and it just doesn't happen much any more. It's clear that the seller misrepresented the condition of this guitar beyond a few doinks. The more honest of a person you are, the worse it gets.

That said *sigh* it is a 2027.

Oh BTW - leave him negative FB?
