n00b Alert! Movin' up to an Ibby

I'm a new member here and though I've owned an Ibanez in the past, I'm still a total Ibanez noob. I figured I'd drop in, say hello and tell ya what I have on order for my NGT (new guitar day).

I've been a Jackson guy for a while but finally figured out what it was I kept missing. Missing usually = GAS pains. Or worsens them. I was missing the look and feel of my old Ibanez. It wasn't anything all that special to anyone but me. It was an all white EX1500 Korean w/maple fretboard. I wore it to the bone and sold it after many years of faithful service (and even more mods). So... I did some research, made a few phone calls and settled on what I hope is going to curb my Ibby GAS pains (for a while).

I decided on an RG1550CA w/Maple board. I have an affinity for the sound a maple board offers. I usually keep at least one around. I feel confident w/the appointments and the neck specs that this will be a keeper for me. Though I will probably ask for opinions on pickup swaps after I burn it in a bit.

A HUGE thanks in advance to Rich for taking (a friggin lot of) his time w/me to help me along. An Ibby noob couldn't ask for a better resource of info or axes, IMHO.

Guit pron to follow once it's NGT day. Thanks for having me here.

Darin - I'm in a town so small it doesn't even get a full pixel on the map when you mapquest it.... Hollidaysburg.

Howdy deciphered = Hi. I speak that language fluently. I have some south in my mouth, so to speak.

Cosmic - I see you're in my old stompin grounds.... Richmond. Unless you were born north of the James River, you should say Howdy too! HeHe! Great place. I do miss it a little.

Not really my style to push up my post count without trying to offer something of substance. But not sharing my new guit pron might send me on a post count campaign. Consider this as such..... shameless post count reply! HeHe!!

Re: n00b Alert! Movin' up to an Ibby

Thanks for the kind welcome. I thought I tried before to link to the pics but couldn't. I will try it again......................

Sorry gents. No joy. It'll have to wait. So says the Links/Image Uploader Gods....

"To be able to post links or images your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 8 posts.

Please remove links from your message, then you will be able to submit your post."

I'm not complaining. I completely understand the intent and willingly abide by it. There will be guit pron.... eventually....
