neck joint on usrg30

howdy.

i have a usrg30 that i bought maybe 5 years ago.

on the lower edge of the neck joint, there is a gap between the neck and the where the lower horn portion joins it. the gap is .88mm, as it is just big enough to slide one of my dunlop greenie picks in.

is this unusual? never had a guitar with a gap like that before.

i'm considering pulling the neck, drilling and filling the screw holes, and remounting it.

Pretty normal, from what I understand.

I have paper thin gaps on either side of the neck on my RG5520 and asked Rich about it. He told me (you can find it if you search) that he's had guitars go through is hands that had 1mm gaps on both sides of the neck.

Nothing is every as good as we want it to be . . . :-)

As long as it stays put, don't worry about it.
