Neck shims on Prestige RG - Tech gurus help

I have this RG 1527 and i noticed... that the neck "looks" tilted...i'm hoping it's a neck shim....i've never unscrewed the neck out of the pocket, and i don't feel like doing it now....so i'd like to know...can it possibly be a neck shim?? or am i facing a "rising tongue" neck problem??

Thanks in advance

David

If nothing is wrong with the guitar, don't touch it...

I'm assuming that around the 20th fret, you are seeing that the strings get farther away from the board ? If so, that is pretty normal. The opposite would be far worse.

There probably isn't a shim in there but generally, if the guitar feels correct when you play it, there's no need to do anything. I only alter that angle when I feel the action is off.

Just unscrew the neck! It's a 1527? Then wedge something behind the back of the trem to decrease string tension, then you can pull the neck without even taking the strings off. There's nothing to be afraid of.

Remember that if you DO remove a shim, you will need to slightly lower the bridge to get back to the same action. Make sure you have enough clearance for the trem bar to not hit the top of the volume knob.

My previous 1527 and the current 1570 that I have both seemed that the neck was mounted on a tilt, as in it gets higher towards the bridge...I think it's how the cut the pocket to be honest on all the new ones...and the 1570 is retarded good, interms of tone and resonance, so I don't see it as an issue. i'm not having an issue with fretting out either so meh, not a big deal.
