Necks on RG2620/2820

hello!

I've been looking on the Ibanez.com pages for several countries, and it says that the RG2620 has a 42mm nut width, anyone who can confirm this?

And the same question about the 2820, because in the pics, it looks smaller than a regular RG model.

Thanks
Tony

Who cares...

Just kidding

I wouldn't know (and I own a RG2820...) The neck on the RG2820 follows all Ultra specs, so I guess the RG2620 does as well. The neck has more beef than the wizards and even the viper profiles, at least in my experience. If the specs on the site say so I will go with that

Could you do a measure on the nut width for me?

PLEASE
I'll be very grateful.

The ultra specs on the rg2020x was not very similiar to the neck that came on the JPM, which some place were noted as ultra spec.
The JPM had 42 mm nut, and the 2020 had 43mm, and had a completely different feel.

The thing is: for me the 2820/2620 would be a lot more interesting guitar for me if it has a 42mm nut.

Thanks

Pretty sure I heard someone say the 2820 did as well, but not positive. I like the narrower board myself....I understand your plight.

If I had only checked jemsite last weekend you would have had your answer by now!, sorry about that

The thing is that the guitar stands in my other "house" (well, the room/cave I live in during the week near the university more specificly ), I can provide your info at wednesday. I'll measure my JPM as well (to be sure!). In my experience the JPM is a Viper neck and thinner than the neck on the RG2820. The feel of them sure is something different (more than you would suspect if you see the specs). The RG2820 has a lot more the feeling of a JS-model or a F-word strat, the radius has to do with that as well.

I'll measure the RG2820 and JPM as soon as I can, I think I can get you the info by wednesday!

There we go!

I measured the width at the nut of both my JPM and RG2820, and they're both 42 mm! The feel of a Viper neck is different than that of an Ultra neck, so if you're not sure it's always best to see for yourself

I hope this helps you out a bit
