Need Help!

I've been wanting to buy a new ibanez, currently I only got a GRG170Dx. I want to upgrade to a 2007 Rg2550, i chose the 2007 because I like the Inlays. If i do get the 2550, i want to swap out the pups for Breeds, I've got a recommendation for the Breeds here at jemsite. I mostly play metal, but here is my situation. I've been asking my parents to help me with the expense of the 2550, but my mom told me to wait till we get back from a vacation this summer. We are going to go to the Philippines, and since my mom told me to wait, i decided to wait. I want to see if there are any J-customs there. I doubt it would be cheap, but ill try to deal with the guy, and of course make sure its not a Chibanez. I would love to find a RG8670, but most likely might by out of price range. But if i do for some reason find a J Custom and buy it, would i have any problems with warping? The Philippines is very humid and when i get back to the states i dont want any warping. And to sum it up here are my questions Buy the 2550 and change the pups to breeds or wait to see if there are J Customs?

Thanks, sorry for the long post.

Re: Need Help!

If you need help from your parents to buy the instrument, you should use this money wisely.

Any standard warranty will fall when you travel with the instrument. So I would just avoid to make that.

Select a nice 1570 in a shop close from your home. And upgrade it with new pickups if there is a few buck left.

You will have time to buy the guitar you dream of when you get your first full-time job.

It's just my opinion though : )

yeah, for now you should stick to whatever you parents can afford... i spend like 6 years with a washburn bt-3 i still have it and it was awesome when i got it... now that i fully work or say that i have a real work i have many guitars... for example 2006 2550e and a JS1200 which by the way feel pretty nice to play them coz they are my effort and work...

Re: Need Help!

Don't worry about humidity... Some parts of Japan can get super humid and if the J-Customs can survive that I'm pretty sure it'll be fine there too.

Good luck finding a RG8670. If you do find any J-Customs it's more likely to be a 8270 or a 8470. But get whatever your parents can afford, but I'm pretty sure you'll be fine with a RG1570/2550 with upgraded pickups.

Re: Need Help!

I'm not asking for the J-Custom, but it would be very very nice find one, it probably wont be very cheap, but I'll see, if i find one, how much the guy will go down. Thanks for the advice.
