I've seen those, the prices are insane with no takers yet. They keep getting relisted. Can't see anyone biting at those prices. Think there was a guy from Greece who had one for sale as well recently, again looking silly money for it.

Some of the really insane prices I hear are people with really nice pieces trying to attract people to their other auctions. I'm honestly not sure how some 70s vintage Ibanez rates to sell at $78,000 but they have a radio shack power supply for $12 they want to unload. Odd.

Use your brain people.. The high prices are to get up the top of the ebay list when viewed in order of highest price.. Both the paint and USA custom are mine and they have the best offer feature. Iv listed it this way to let people know Im interested in selling.

You look stupid in the process and only inflate prices and as a result stupid people who do not read and assume they can put their rg paint for 5k...or their 540pii for 2.5k...

I agree, it's a marketing tactic, I've seen the guitars when I've looked at "highest price first" and there are probably 200 RG350s I've ignored as a result. If they were guitars I was after, i'd probably look and say "I wonder if he'd take X amount...?" there's nothing wrong with this approach in my book.

I don't thing that it inflates the price because in an economic model like ebay, it's pure supply vs demand: If someone wants 540Pii or a PMC or whatever they'll know what they're after and they'll know what they're prepared to pay. If sellers list too high, they'll either get best offers of even messages with offers for deals outside of ebay or the guitar won't sell. Those folks who try to list things at above market value, either don't make a sale or they strike it lucky with a rich bidder who see their item at the top of the "highest price first" list...

I just find it really annoying when I go to buy guitars that are actually worth money. Its like when people use incorrect tags on purpose to drive more traffic.

Whatever though, its not something adversely affecting my life lol, good luck in your sale

A non original mixed mutt of a 540PII is worth more than a stock clean original 1992 UV7BK im selling at currently au$1675...seriously man.... are we on the same planet here?? Couldnt care for your reasoning, it just an absurd price.
